PHILANTHROPY

Nationally, Chi Omega partners with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granting wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions and bringing joy to their families. Over the past 10 years, our chapter has raised nearly $500,000 for Make-A-Wish. Through these experiences, we aim to bring hope and create meaningful moments for children and their families as they face these challenges together.

Chi Omega’s greatest source of fundraising is through our annual  “Wings for Wishes” bracket-style wing eating competition in the Spring and our annual "Swishes for Wishes" basketball tournament in the Fall. Wish Week is another event where we hold many fundraising activities that include, Pie a Chi-O, donut & cookies stands, silent auctions, t-shirt sales, and many others. In-chapter fundraisers, such as Chi O Yard Sale, is one of the many other ways we raise money for Make-A-Wish.

Whether helping our national philanthropy (Make-A-Wish Foundation), the Clemson University community, or the local community, Chi Omegas make a difference. Each year, we commit to both fundraising and volunteering to help make a difference in the lives of others. In addition to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chi Omegas at Clemson participate in other University events such as Dance Marathon, Clemson LIFE, Habitat for Humanity, and many more.

A LETTER FROM OUR community service CHAIR

Hi! My name is Grace Nagel, and I’m Chi Omega’s Philanthropy Chair. This position has given me the opportunity to lead and create meaningful change through our chapter’s service and outreach.

Philanthropy is about lifting others up! Whether we’re supporting Make-A-Wish, partnering with organizations, or giving back locally, the goal is always to create hope and connection and have fun in the process!

I’ve also grown as a leader by planning fundraisers, encouraging involvement, and bringing the community together for a shared purpose. Witnessing our chapter make positive impacts has been incredibly rewarding.

This opportunity has been a meaningful experience I’ll carry with me moving forward in my personal life and career.

Xoxo,
Grace Nagel
